Réparation d'un djembé
Ici un beau djembé Kamgaba monté avec le rabat de la peau sur les cercles à la demande du client... (11 photos)
J'ai passé d'abord un coup d'huile de lin sur le fût pour le nettoyer et lui redonner des sont aspects de bois brillant...
La peau, ici une peau épaisse, est trempée toute une nuit.
Elle est ensuite cousue sur le cercle de montage et déjà un peu tendue...
La peau est ensuite déposée sur le fût, puis le deuxième cercle de tension vient par dessus. Je retourne le tout pour que la peau reste bien en place pendant le passage de la corde. La peau et tendue progressivement en 5 étapes de tension de la corde :
1- la corde est simplement passée sans aucune tension.
2- Le fût à l'envers, je fais un premier tour de tension à la main ou j'ajuste le cercle du col..
3- Je retourne le fût et tire sur les plis de la peau afin de n'en laisser aucun entre les deux cercles. Puis je fait un deuxième tour de tension à la main ou je tente de faire descendre les cercles au niveau du chanfrein...
4- Pour le troisième tour de tension, je couche le fût afin d'avoir plus de force pour tirer à la main, et de pouvoir utiliser le levier si besoin de ramener et d'équilibrer la position des cercles par rapport au chanfrein.
Puis la peau est mise à sécher quelques jours. Ici, elle est d'abord mise en place et tendue pour former le rabat pour dessus les cercles de montage.
Une fois sécher, la peau est découpée juste au niveau des anneaux du cercle de tension.
Puis je racle la peau avec un outils de ma fabrication. Cela rend peau toute douce au touché..
5- Enfin je fais un dernier tour de tension, ou chaque nœuds et tirer au levier et le tension maintenue à la pince étaux...
Et voilà un Kangaba qui a fait peau neuve...
